What is Good Seed Organics?

Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) is also known as "subscription farming." You buy a subscription from a local farmer just like you buy a subscription to a magazine. But instead of receiving a magazine each week, you receive "shares" of fresh picked produce bursting with flavor and nutrition.

Membership includes 5 free vegetable shares per week (you get to choose the variety from our weekly menu) Then you have the option to add on as many other vegetable shares as you want to buy paid by cash or check at time of  pick up. You’ll get high quality certified organic for about the same price as conventional.

Side by side comparison of the Discovery Gardens and Good Seed Organics programs.

Discovery Gardens

6 month season: April through September

Description:
Hands on Discovery Gardens is a hands on agriculture program. You will learn to plant, tend, and harvest at our weekly garden classes. We provide everything you need for the class and do all the irrigation, pest management and fertilizing for nutrient density.

 * No gardening experience necessary.
 * You choose the plants from our Garden Catalog.
 * The soil is prepared for you and ready to plant.
 * Classes offered three days per week.
 * Come to the classes and take home the harvest.

**Genesis Organic Farm cannot guarantee the harvest.
Only God can do that. Last two seasons have averaged
400 lbs per 100 square foot garden.

Total cost of the program is $350
($100 enrollment and $50 per month for 5 months) paid by cash or check. September is free.

Discovery Gardens members tend their own gardens and are also expected to help out in the community garden. It serves as crop insurance. The community garden produce is shared by all Discovery Gardens members and excess will be donated to the soup kitchen.

Members get U-Pick Genesis Farm tree fruit and grapes for $1.00 per pound.
And U-pick perennial herb garden is free.

Organically grown on a nutrient density program but not certified.

May Participate in the Discovery Gardens summer harvest cooking demonstrations on Saturdays.
